News from the farm week of March 12, 2007
(Printed newsletter begins last week of May)
A Fresh Start . . . Again!
The snowdrifts are disappearing! Familiar spring sounds are being heard. Our little farm is once again preparing itself for that wonderful planting and growing season. Flats are under the grow lights and some of the earlier items are a couple inches high. More flats are being planted every day. Even though the frost is still deep in the ground, this is a time of planning and anticipation for what will be coming our way in the next few weeks.
In addition to the plants being started, preparations are being made to get our greenhouse set up and ready. Diagrams of the various garden plots are being made to include the variety of produce needed to fill the share boxes. All in all, we just can't wait to be getting our hands down in the dirt!
Members, Your Spring Survey Sheets Are Needed!
The survey sheets help us plan varieties and quantities. They also provide us with much needed information on preferences, food allergies, and suggestions you may have for us.
Drop off points
This years drop off points are being evaluated based on membership needs. Please indicate on your spring survey any preferences you may have for time of day and day of the week. We will try to organize our routes in a way that best meets the majority of members needs. Remember there are no Sunday deliveries. We will be providing more specific information in the weeks to come.
More information to come!
Please visit this sight occasionally as we will be updating it every week.
Warm wishes!
